Hiring

Careers

A Zurich practice hiring people who open the live page. Outreach, Swiss editorial across DE, FR, IT, and EN, and publisher research, not a quota factory with a careers microsite.

From the editor

We hire people who open the page. The rest of the craft can be taught. If you want a role where the spreadsheet is the product, this is the wrong desk.

The work

Real placements, not agency costume

Most link-building careers pages sell culture. This one describes the brief. The practice earns editorial mentions on Swiss pages. The publisher file holds 25,000+ Swiss and .ch websites, and we reach thousands of those desks each month. The people who do that work are named on the team page.

A strong hire already knows the difference between a pitch and a blast, between Swiss High German and Germany German, between a Romandie desk and a machine-translated French page, and between a domain metric and a neighbourhood a sceptical editor would accept. We will teach you the file. We will not teach you to pretend.

The desk is small by design. Correspondence is email. Hours run Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00 Zurich time. Pay is in Swiss francs, settled once we know the role and the city, not printed as a slogan.

How the desk runs

What you are walking into

Named people, not a delivery farm

The colleagues on the team page plan, pitch, and review. You will not be a numbered seat in a 200-person fulfilment centre.

Zurich clock

Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00 Europe/Zurich. Remote is fine when the overlap is real and the output is. Email is how we work.

Four working languages

Pitches go out in German, French, or Italian as the host requires. Client threads run in English or the client's Swiss language. Translation-as-a-service is not the role.

The live page decides

Metrics travel with the URL because we keep the file current. They never replace opening the site. If you want a job where the spreadsheet is the product, look elsewhere.

03 listed · Zurich

  1. 01 · Outreach

    Outreach specialist

    Full-time

Zurich, or remote on Zurich hours

    Apply for this role

You write to named Swiss editors in German, French, or Italian. The publisher file holds 25,000+ Swiss and .ch sites. The craft is the pitch, the follow-up, and declining a page that does not deserve the citation.

    You will

    • Study the host archive before you send anything. Generic pitches do not leave this desk.
    • Run conversations pulled from the Swiss file — thousands a month across the team, still written one editor at a time.
    • Keep the campaign ledger honest: live URL, surrounding copy, destination, and whether the sentence earned the link.
    • Pitch in DE, FR, or IT; brief and report with clients in English or their preferred Swiss language.

    You bring

    • Native or near-native German, French, or Italian, plus client-ready English.
    • Proven editorial outreach, digital PR, or publisher relations — not blast-list history.
    • Willingness to open every page and reject the ones that fail.
    • Comfort on a small Zurich desk. Titles are thin; the work is not.
  2. 02 · Editorial

    Editorial writer

    Full-time or contract

Zurich, or remote on Zurich hours

    Apply for this role

Contributed pieces a Swiss editor can publish without rewriting half of them. The sentence has to belong on that page. Machine-translated English is not the assignment.

    You will

    • Write in German, French, or Italian for the host publication — not for a keyword grid.
    • Turn a product, source, or expert view into something the reader can use, not an ad block with a URL.
    • Meet Claire's bar: if the host would not run it unsigned, the draft is unfinished.
    • Adjust voice by neighbourhood. A Zurich finance desk and a Romandie lifestyle title are not the same Swiss.

    You bring

    • Native German, French, or Italian, with journalism or trade-press clips.
    • English strong enough to take a brief and push back when the ask is wrong.
    • Work we can open in a browser. Unsigned SEO blogs do not count as clips.
    • Editorial pride: you cut weak lines before anyone else has to.
  3. 03 · The file

    Publisher researcher

    Full-time

Zurich, or remote on Zurich hours

    Apply for this role

25,000+ Swiss and .ch publishers across industries and cantons, kept as a living map. Someone has to prospect, refresh metrics, open the page, and decide what still belongs.

    You will

    • Find and review publishers across national, Zurich, Romandie, and Ticino titles in DE, FR, and IT.
    • Keep Ahrefs DR, traffic, Moz DA, and Majestic TF current — then still open the live site.
    • Flag neighbourhoods that have gone bad: junk drawers, wrong language for the market, pages nobody reads.
    • Hand outreach a short rationale for each title, not a dump of domains.

    You bring

    • German, French, or Italian plus English. You will read archives and client briefs every day.
    • Background in link prospecting, publisher research, or investigative SEO.
    • Fluency with Ahrefs, Moz, and Majestic as sorting tools, not as the final vote.
    • A preference for fewer strong rows over a bloated sheet.

How we hire, without the theatre

  1. Send the packet

Use the form, or email hr@link-building-switzerland.com with your CV, a short letter, a URL to work we can open, and the role you want.

  2. We read for specificity

A letter that could go to any agency gets treated like one. Concrete beats volume. We reply when there is a conversation worth having.

  3. Talk shop

In English, German, French, or Italian. About pages you have shipped, editors you have written to, and what you would refuse. Not a bank of HR softballs.

  4. Paid sample

A pitch, a page review, or a short Swiss-language draft — paid, scoped, close to the real work. We do not ask for unpaid tests.

Questions we hear first

The practice sits in Zurich. Remote works if you keep Zurich hours and already operate in Swiss-language markets. We cannot invent visa sponsorship from another continent with no timezone overlap.
